London pop-art-pop troubadours The Real Tuesday Weld were formed in 1999 by Stephen Coates. They pioneered a style combining old jazz sounds and electronics they called ‘Antique Beat’ influencing the current movement of electro-swing producers. Reluctant scene- joiners, they run their own arts label and events, score films and have become increasingly interested in Soviet musical culture. They will perform songs of death and love drawn from their own repertoire and a selection of others.
