Western society has long outsourced conversations about death to doctors, nurses, priests, and undertakers, and as a result we have lost the ability to comfortably discuss the most profound and significant event we will all have to face. The first UK Death Cafe was set up in 2011 by Jon Underwood, not only to make the subject more palatable but also to "help people make the most of their (finite) lives."
