SALON NO. 39: PSYCHEDELIC CITY
Kick off your sandals and light up the candles

6:30pm Thursday August 25th 2016
Westminster Arts Library
35 St Martins Street
London WC1

Sadly we have had to CANCEL this event.  All ticket holders will be refunded via ticket script.

London was the European centre of the Psychedelic Revolution.
Fifty years ago, the UFO Club opened in Tottenham Court Road paving the way for London’s summer of love with bands including Pink Floyd and the Soft Machine playing to a spaced out, grooved up psychedelic London crowd.  JOE MELLON, who drilled hole in his head to get permanently high in 1968, briefly comes down to take us on a trip through a kaleidoscopic city of drugs, happenings, music and … of course love.  He will accompanied by a very special guest PSYCHONAUT.

Salon for the City is an Antique Beat produced series taking a look at London through a different lens on the last Thursday of each month at the Westminster Arts Reference Library.

WHAT THEY SAY ABOUT THE SALON FOR THE CITY:
"Loved speaking at this event - marvellous location in the heart of Westminster - and all the questions from a curious, cosmopolitan, engaged audience."
Lee Jackson (Victorian London)
"A beautiful library, deucedly good speakers, a laid-back atmosphere, a spellbinding evening and the kind of Q&A session that'll have you fumbling for your notebook. A whole heap of London...it's a recipe that's only equalled by the fabulous gin cocktails handed out to those lucky enough to get a ticket."
Matt Brown (Editor at large Londonist)
"Salon for the City" proves that people still crave unique, transient, live and challenging events in a world of digitally cloned disconnected mulch. Dave McKeen (Artist and illustrator)
